President Bola Tinubu Praises Re-opening of Warri Refinery

  President Bola Tinubu has praised the re-opening of the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited. He described the feat it as a remarkable achievement in 2024 that has bolstered Nigerians’ confidence in his administration. The president highlighted the restart of the one hundred and twenty-five -barrel-per-day Warri refinery as a note worthy way to end the year, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to restoring all four refineries in the country to full operational capacity. Funke Akindele Latest Film, ‘Everybody Loves lJenifa,’ Hits N1b Mark in 21 Days

  N ollywood actress and box office star Funke Akindele has achieved another remarkable milestone as her latest film, ‘Everybody Loves lJenifa,’ grosses over one billion Naira within three weeks. In a post on her X handle Akindele revealed that ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa; has become the second Nollywood film to hit the one billion nira mark within the last 12 months, achieving a cumulative total of over one million naira. The movie has also made history by becoming the fastest Nollywood title to reach the N1 billion threshold, doing so in just nineteen days. The film has reportedly dominated the December box office, accounting for about 40% of the total revenue with two hundred and two thousand, six hundred and four admissions. President Tinubu emphasized that the budget was designed to align with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, to prioritize poverty reduction, equitable income distribution, and human capital development. A TRUCK DRIVER FEARED DEAD ON KARA BRIDGE ACCIDENT

  A truck driver was feared dead on Wednesday at Kara Bridge inward Ibadan on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway during multiple autocrashes. According to the report,  in a bid to avoid collision with a 40-foot container, the deceased driver who was in motion lost control and fell on its side resulting in the discharge of its contents. The incident had therefore led to gridlock on the ever-busy road. OSHODI MARKET WITNESSES CHRISTMAS RUSH AMIDST ECONOMIC CHALLENGES

Despite the complaints of hardship by Nigerians, Christmas shoppers besieged Oshodi market in Lagos today buying clothes and shoes for their children and wards. In a chat with Radio One, some mothers said they struggled to purchase new clothing and shoes for their little children to feel the impact of the season. While noting the realities of the  economic situation in the country, some of the buyers appealed to President Bola Tinubu to reduce cost of petrol per liter as they hinged increasing cost of goods and services on high transportation fares. Some of the traders said though the influx of customers in the market does not commensurate with sales recorded at the end of the day but noted that they are still making good sales. President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Lagos for his Christmas and New Year celebrations. President Tinubu arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, at exactly three minutes after three this afternoon. The President was received at the airport by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his Deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, members of Lagos State Cabinet as well as leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman, on winning the 2024 CAF Men’s African Footballer of the Year.

LAGOS GOVT PARTNERS BANK FOR HOUSING UNITS IN IKORODU

  Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reiterated his administration's commitment to address ing housing deficit in the State.   Governor Sanwo-Olu spoke on Tuesday at Lagos House, Ikeja during the presentation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the construction of 704 new housing units of two-bedroom apartments in Odo Nla, Ikorodu, facilitated by the Lagos State Government and Access Bank PLC.   The housing project, which is going to be 44 blocks of 16 units per block of two-bedroom flats, is expected to be completed in the next two years with complementing features like a cinema house, gym center, playground, and security network, among others.   Governor Sanwo-Olu described the partnership between the Lagos State Government and Access Bank PLC as part of efforts to provide affordable, decent homes for residents of the State, especially the low-income earners.   The Governor noted that addressing the housing deficit requires bold steps ini...
